Nestled in the heart of Old Town Fairfax, The Crossing shares a vibrant community with both the City of Fairfax and George Mason University (GMU).  Making The Crossing very accessible are the CUE Bus System, with multiple stops just steps away from The Crossing, and the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro Station, which is only 3.5 miles away.

Of the many City services available, residents of The Crossing are encouraged to sign up for the following:

• e-Message Alert System (eMAS): This service provides free electronic notifications (via email, text, etc) related to a multitude of topics, such as emergencies, government closures, law enforcement, road closures, and special events.
  
• Cityscene: Monthly City of Fairfax newsletter published by the first of each month by the Community Relations Office to inform residents, business owners, and others of government actions and events of interest in the City. The publication is available via the City’s website or via traditional mail to individuals upon request.
